In the early '50s, Tommy Dorsey mostly recorded commercial (and long out-of-print) music for Decca, so these live performances are quite welcome. Emphasizing Dorsey's jazz side, one not only hears Dorsey's trombone but Charlie Shavers's trumpet and Sam Donahue's tenor featured throughout this LP as well. Bill Finegan contributed some of the arrangements to what would be Tommy Dorsey's last big band before rejoining forces with his brother Jimmy Dorsey for a final nostalgia-based orchestra.
