The leading Swedish sound art maestro creates gorgeous and foreboding drones on this outing for Fire Inc.. Though his works deal in extreme minimalism, the results are not tonal studies so much as experiments within sound and architecture, where technology tampers with the atmosphere just enough to heighten the listener's awareness of the phenomenon of sound. The results of his mysterious activities explore the spaces between science and mythology and the result is a far-from-passive listening experience. This work functions on the threshold of audibility, yet maintains an extraordinary presence as the speakers hum with distant static tones, sine waves, and sub-sonic vibrations. As sound art documentation, this is a compelling CD which can, in a mystifying fashion, disrupt the airwaves just enough to create a beautifully contemplative sound space to bathe in. Gorgeous packaging from the Fire Inc. label makes this CD a beautiful item to behold.
