This LP is a pleasant surprise from start to finish. The Blind Craftsmen are a duo made up of MCs Matt and Keith. They're a couple of kids from Baltimore, MD, put on CD by Da Hill Records, a local label. They bring an experienced lyrical ability to the microphone that's definitely unexpected, and really put together what can easily be called a complete album. There have been many epic storytelling efforts in hip-hop, and this is that kind of album. Although it doesn't follow a strict path or storyline, it flows well from the intros to the tracks and vice versa, keeping the listener interested even after it's been played out. Standout tracks are "Don't Dance," "Altered Reality," and "Insanity," and the beats are well produced. All in all, a great first effort for a young group with hopefully a lot ahead of them.
