AllMusic Review by

George Barnes, a pioneering electric guitarist, was a very valuable studio musician during the 1940s and '50s. This Hindsight LP of previously unissued transcriptions made for radio has an unusual instrumentation. In addition to Barnes and a standard four-piece rhythm section (with drummer Frank Rullo doubling on vibes), there are four woodwind players utilizing clarinets, bass clarinets, an English horn, an oboe, flutes and a piccolo. Barnes is pretty much the only soloist on these 15 selections but his colorful and unpredictable arrangements give the other studio musicians plenty to do. The unusual set is quite enjoyable and somewhat unique.
