Chuck van Zyl, Peter D. Gulch, and D. Andrew Rath are e-music veterans from southeastern Pennsylvania. Van Zyl is host of the Star's End radio program and the Gathering e-music concert series. Gulch has collaborated with van Zyl before, and was the driving force behind the Nightcrawlers. Rath has performed on many albums and in and around Philadelphia for years. Together, they also perform as Ministry of Inside Things, with Art Cohen on guitars. In 1989, as Van Zyl, Gulch & Rath, they recorded a set of blistering electronica. For some reason, it sat dormant for 12 years. Groove Unlimited released The Sound Museum in 2001. This CD is steeped in the traditions of Berlin school electronica. The sequences are potent, the atmospheres are wide, the drones are persistent. This outstanding CD represents everything great in this style of e-music. It will appeal to fans of Patrick O'Hearn, Ron Boots, Klaus Schulze, and Ian Boddy.
