AllMusic Review by

An expanded and improved bootleg remastering of the group's 1964 debut LP, with the original U.K. song lineup restored (including the extended version of "Tell Me") and a brace of choice bonus tracks appended. These include an outtake of "Not Fade Away" with a more prominent acoustic guitar, an further instrumental outtake from the Phil Spector/Gene Pitney sessions that yielded "Now I've Got a Witness," the first, poppier version of "Poison Ivy," an unissued but finished take of "Fortune Teller," early takes of "Tell Me" and "Fortune Teller," and the best-sounding master of "Andrew's Blues" (still the funniest song the Stones ever cut). The audio quality on the outtakes is more than a match for the best officially released early Stones tracks, and the album proper has amazingly rich sound.
