The second LP of live solos performed by Paul Lingle at the Jug Club features the trad jazz pianist in excellent form, playing obscurities from the 1920s along with a few warhorses. The Euphonic label (which did the jazz world a major favor by documenting the rarely recorded Lingle) only put out LPs, which are all difficult to find now, but in general, they are worth searching for (particularly those by the pianist). The sound quality is only okay during these particular performances, but Paul Lingle's spirited style definitely comes through. Highlights include Scott Joplin's "Original Rags," "Muscle Shoals Blues," "Little Rock Getaway," and "That's A Plenty Rag."
