AllMusic Review by

A companion (of course) to the simultaneously released The Early Years, The Later Years was a four-CD box set that rounded up the last three Roxy albums (the comeback Manifesto, the disappointing Flesh + Blood and the genre-defining Avalon), together with a 16-track collection celebrating management company EG's 20th anniversary. King Crimson, ELP, T. Rex, the Penguin Café Orchestra, Killing Joke and U.K. are among the compilation's highlights, but Roxy dominate here as well, highlighting the main band, plus solo turns by Bryan Ferry and Brian Eno, and the extracurricular 801, without any duplication from the accompanying Roxy albums themselves. The package as a whole is more of a collectible item than an essential purchase, but if a copy turns up cheap, it's certainly worth the investment.
