A Tony Award winner for Best Revival of a Musical that also won Tonys for lead actress Kelli O'Hara and featured actress Ruthie Ann Miles, the 2015 Broadway revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I, a 1951 stage musical based on the memoirs of an English schoolteacher in 19th century Siam, was filled with top-level performances. Also starring Ken Watanabe, Tony-nominated for his performance as the King, the production opened in April of 2015 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater at Lincoln Center. With classic show tunes like "Shall We Dance?" and "Getting to Know You," and Miles' much-heralded performance of "Something Wonderful," the album was recorded at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music in N.Y.C. in April and released by Decca Broadway in June of 2015.
