AllMusic Review by

A successful return to form for this series, mostly because it copies the formula of the first volume, down to a short cover of a '70s singer/songwriter, this time Laura Nyro's "Lu." The flowery pop of the first volume gives way to more cool textures, with "My Weakness," "Avec Moi," and "An Etude: Satin Nights" doffing their cap to the electro-pop sounds coming out of Europe. It's as smooth as a martini. "Black Flower Petal" is a traditional Japanese enka with some modernizing hip-hop beats, and the final track, Sakurai's "Love's Declaration of War," is his tribute to James Taylor. A fine volume where melancholy and mystery run high. Recommended.
