AllMusic Review by

Isham Jones' Depression-era orchestra is heard on 16 of their better titles from the era on this excellent but long out-of-print LP in RCA's famous Vintage series. The personnel, which includes trombonist Jack Jenney and some musicians who would later be a part of Woody Herman's first orchestra, is mostly fairly anonymous, although the ensembles are tight and the musicianship is excellent. The emphasis is on dance music, with an occasional jazz-oriented tune (such as "Sentimental Gentleman From Georgia," "China Boy" and "The Blue Room") included for variety.
