AllMusic Review by

A throbbing platter of lo-fi industrial scuzz-rock, The Crack is one unique-sounding record indeed, but not for everyone. The sizzling guitars and organs bleed together and distort into alarmingly coarse overtones. Equally sleazy are the songs themselves -- odes to the carnal pleasures of a "Big Fat Lady" (who is probably the same femme fatale as desired in the pounding "Mature Woman") and drinking "Old Kentucky" moonshine. Despite its affinity for meticulously sloppy punk, Thundercrack does exhibit a serious debt to classic R&B. "Train by Train" is a deliriously loud, heavy blues riff with some truly great harp and completely indecipherable lyrics, and "Fallin' of the Log" boasts great fuzz-slide guitar. Somebody should hook these guys up with Andre Williams.
