AllMusic Review by Steve Leggett

Standing as the very definition of Philly soul, the O'Jays rode the production and songwriting team of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff to the top of the charts countless times during the 1970s, with substantive songs like "Back Stabbers," "Love Train," "For the Love of Money," and "Give the People What They Want," songs that combined a kind of urban gospel flavor with light funk over a sweet layer of graceful strings, all of which presaged contemporary urban soul. This two-disc set does a pretty good job of combining the early successes of the O'Jays with their later work, including 1991's comeback gospel cover of Bob Dylan's "Emotionally Yours."
