There's little at a glance to distinguish this from the small mountain of '60s garage comps that deluged the market in the mid-'80s (the near-total lack of liner notes didn't help). Some of it's pretty boring, but if you're inclined to this particular strain of music, you might want to lend an ear to the cuts by the Uncalled For, the Mods, the London Knights, and the Cascades, which are all garage rock at its most melodic. The London Knights' "Go to Him" is a particular standout, sounding a bit like a punky early Byrds. Also, the Uncalled For's "Masters of War" is one of the rawest Dylan covers ever preserved.
