There is a bewildering array of Bob Marley collections on the market, and new ones pop up all the time, but they're generally pretty fly-by-night with few track notes, and are usually tossed together with little regard for either chronology or stylistic coherence. This three-disc set is one is one of those, with a mix of Wailers self-productions, some as early as 1967, as well as sides the Wailers recorded with producer Leslie Kong in 1970 and with producer Lee "Scratch" Perry between August 1970 and April 1971, a period that many feel generated the most free-flowing creative material the Wailers and Marley ever recorded.
