"Me lo Dijo Adela" comes from 1955's Mambos album. The rest of Best Of must be similar high-fidelity but pre-stereo recordings, from 1950-57. Curiously, there is nothing here from Three Loves Have I, although the two have much in common. The sound is superb and cohesion high for a compilation. While the material is not his absolute best, it is very authentic and progressive for Latin-dance-band music of the time. "Los Marcianos" must have inspired Al Castellanos' "Martian Cha Cha Cha" on Mardi Gras.
