While this is not quite as potent a collection as Volume 1 in the series, this compilation does have many great moments. Midget Bill Barty's spoof of Liberace in "I'm in the Mood for Love" is priceless, as is the unfortunately edited version of old drunken cowpokes parodying Vaughan Monroe's huge hit "Ghost Riders in the Sky" (Monroe was also an RCA stockholder and prevented the release of the original master of this recording). Guitarist/singer/banjo player Freddie Morgan is featured prominently on "Chinese Mule Train" and "Japanese Skokiaan." This LP is also worth seeking out, as RCA reissues of Spike Jones material have been notoriously sporadic and incomplete.
