The Allston Years (by Will & Steve) is a generous collection of torch songs, blues numbers, and classics from the American standard songbook performed with aplomb. Will is Will McMillan (the vocals) and Steve is Steve Sweeting (piano/production). Laser-focused on music, McMillan claims that he does not read newspapers, magazines, or watch TV. We're told that Will is gay and Steve is straight, so it's a mixed collaboration. Selections include: "Do I Love You?" (Cole Porter), "Who Cares?" (Gershwin), and "Cry, Baby, Cry" (Lennon/McCartney). All feature McMillan's supple phrasing and unabashed love of each selection.
