AllMusic Review by

That Saucy Redhead reissues the dozen songs of both 10" LPs Cafe Party and Latin Party Rhythms. While no one would accuse the latter set of being strictly true to the Latin theme, or even Caribbean, it is a shame that the songs with exotic and non-exotic themes are mixed here. On the other hand, novelty benefits from variety. There are a couple of cha cha chas, calypsos, and sambas, plus the usual sex-money-marriage numbers. The more African-sounding numbers, "Ubangi" and the two sambas, are the most successful. Whether or not the music lends itself to scandalous sensuality, Wallis sounds more excited and animated on these tracks. While Jimmy Carroll's backing is always fine, if not perfectly appropriate, one wonders what backing could have been provided by Les Baxter, Chaino, or Russ Garcia.
