From Philadelphia to the New Zealand scene and then out across Ohio, the Siltbreeze label has remained remarkably dedicated to low-fi. Tard & Further'd presents the best and most revered dealers in tape hiss, four-tracks, and epic noise, including Guided by Voices, Sebadoh, and New Zealand's incredible Dead C. These three contributors alone make the compilation worthwhile, but many other tracks from 1989 to 1995 appear as well -- mostly rare seven-inch releases from projects like Halo of Flies, Alistair Galbraith, Monkey 101, and others. It's an excellent collection for fans of the frequently brilliant scene to which Siltbreeze has dedicated itself.
