Teddy Wilson was right at home when he traveled to Sweden to record with the Ove Lind Swing Group. Even though most of the songs were written by Swedish composers and it was unlikely that Wilson was familiar with them, the charts and instrumentation were very similar to Wilson's record dates with Benny Goodman, ranging from trio setting to the full sextet. Wilson has two solo piano features, highlighted by the elegant, swinging "Too Late." Few of the melodies will be familiar to listeners outside of Sweden, but clarinetist Lind, vibraphonist Lars Erstrand, guitarist Rolf Berg, bassist Arne Wihelmsson, and drummer Per Hulten provide strong accompaniment to their special guest. These very upbeat sessions should appeal to swing fans, though this long-unavailable album may be somewhat difficult to acquire.
