This nostalgic three-disc collection features 57 classic oldies. Summer of the 60s includes dozens of chart hits from the mid- to late-'60s, along with a few tunes from the 1950s (Gene Vincent's "Be Bop A Lula," Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode," and Buddy Holly's "Peggy Sue") and the very early '70s ("Sugar Sugar" by the Archies). While most of the songs featured on the set are from American and British artists, a handful of French stars are also included, among them Brigitte Bardot and Serge Gainsbourg ("Bonnie and Clyde"), Jacques Dutronc ("Les Cactus"), and Christophe ("Les Marionettes"). Includes selections by the Beach Boys, the Monkees, the Sonics, the Byrds, the Lovin' Spoonful, the Mamas & the Papas, the Turtles, the 13th Floor Elevators, the Yardbirds, the Spencer Davis Group, and many more.
