Many music lovers can't get enough of carnatic singing, especially the styles that bridge popular and classical, like these religious kritis in honor of Ganesh. The pieces here are mostly by two of the greatest carnatic composers, Dikshitar and Thyagaraja. The very varied performances in semi-classical style, including one by Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna, wonderfully combine warmth and dignity.
