Steve and David Gordon play all the instruments on this album of melodic compositions. Here the brothers Gordon begin to use digital sound samples, so the computerized/live musical boundaries blend. The album begins with "Crystal Havens," a magical processional that conjures up medieval courtyards. The vision is then whisked away with spacewinds and celestial chimes, and a crystalline world grows in its place. "Twin Souls" is a magical waltz, while "Gates of Morning" offers a hopeful anthem for guitar. The second side also contains processionals and magical marches suitable for the wizard minded. The title cut, with celebratory bells and the Gordons' overlapping voices, is infectiously charming.
