AllMusic Review by

The Soul Patrol series continues, with 18 more examples of the finest in Southern-style soul. A few of the tracks, notably Aaron Neville's "Tell It Like It Is," and Dorothy Moore's "Misty Blue," and Tyrone Davis' "Turn Back the Hands of Time," made deservedly large marks on the pop charts, but much of the rest will be unfamiliar to listeners who have rarely wandered into Memphis/Muscle Shoals territory. Grab the chance to get acquainted: Millie Jackson's "Ask Me What You Want," Jerry Butler's "I Stand Accused," and the great Etta James' live reading of "I'd Rather Go Blind" are among many reasons to pick this up.
