AllMusic Review by

Songs About Our Past collects various tracks from indie-pop bands who have released records on the Sunday label, none of whom are particularly remarkable. There are the Pristines, Mosaic Eyes, the not-so-thrilling Fruit, Dolores Haze, Sweetest Ache, the Proctors, and others. (A picture of Slowdive's Rachel Goswell appears on the liner, making one wish something of that band's quality were included.) The resulting compilation is relatively banal; most disturbing is Bulldozer Crash's apparently unreferential cop of the Cure's "Just Like Heaven" on "Changing."
