First of all, the insert of this EP is worth the purchase alone, as it's a collage of various comic panels taken from all those schmaltzy soap opera comics that were popular in the 1940s through the early 1970s. Second of all, So Sad (To Watch Good Love Go Bad) is a lot more upbeat and punkier than prior Gaze releases -- with the exception of the title track, which is an Everly Brothers cover. And as they break away from their mellow trademark of soothing indie pop, Gaze is a lot more attentive and catchier without letting go of their sentimental styling of sensitive lyrics and harmonies. This single should have been titled, "So Sad (That This is Our Last 7" Release)."
