On their third album, Killwhitneydead follow the template of their first two so slavishly that casual listeners might think they actually picked up one of the earlier records by accident. Same prolix song titles (which as always have nothing to do with the songs themselves), same tendency to stop songs dead in the middle to insert a seemingly random film dialogue sample, and, unfortunately, the same old one-dimensional songwriting, utterly characterless death-grunt vocals, complete disinterest in any musical tricks outside of the unison power chord, and lack of arrangement ideas other than the aforementioned samples. However, those samples are useful in their way: their presence gives listeners something to ponder as they try to remember what movies they came out of. This activity is quite likely preferable to listening more closely to the songs and realizing further just how stuck in a musical rut Killwhitneydead have become.
