AllMusic Review by

With Ska Gone South, Richmond, VA ska pushers Bob Records have put together a fine collection of '90s ska bands. From the eminently well-known Pietasters to more up and coming bands like Tweed Sneakers, this compilation slaps together a veritable salad of ska styles. Sometimes driving, but never harsh the way some punky ska can be, these bands have preserved the laid-back Jamaican roots that make ska great. Some of the bands stick a little closer to tradition than others, but the music never sounds tired. Some of the great songs to start with: "Fun Lover" by the Good Guys, "Skankin" by Full Stop, and "Deep Blue" by Fighting Gravity.
