AllMusic Review by

There's an odd charm to Cher U.K. -- the sound of She's a Weird Little Snack may be straightforward, gritty, vaguely-indie rock, and the songs' lyrics might occasionally be rather wretched, but there's something about the melodicism of the belted-out vocals ("College Song") and the simplistic crunch of powerchords that can be rather driving and appealing. Go Go Fish, this album's successor, tends to make good on this appeal in a slightly more palatable way -- but the simple fact is that Cher U.K. has the endearingly-unbrilliant charm of a local band in a bar somewhere, and this comes through on all of their releases.
