In 2001, Philippine female singer Jamie Rivera released Seasons. The album is centered on songs that celebrate certain holidays and seasons, as well as important events in one's life. For example, Christmas is honored with "Christmas Will Always Be Christmas," and high school and college graduation is honored with "One Last Time." "And You Will Call Her Mother" is intended for Mother's Day, while "All Because of You" is a tribute to one's father. The style of music on the album is gentle middle-of-the-road. One of the album's best songs is "My Life Is in Your Hands," which contains a strong, penetrating melody and an interesting shift from the major key to the minor key.
The album also contains a stirring rendition of the Philippines' national anthem, "Lupang Hinirang" (Land of the Morning), sung a cappella, followed by a recitation of the Philippine oath. There is also a patriotic song, "Pilipinas" (Philippines), composed by respected singer/songwriter Gary Granada. Throughout, Jamie Rivera sings with a strong, confident voice.
