AllMusic Review by

To understand what this album is about, you must forget everything you know about Brazilian music. This is a regional release, faithful to the upcountry tradition of the state of São Paulo. Delicate acoustic interpretations with the typical singing in thirds, some Paraguayan chamamés, with accordions and discrete percussion, plenty of hand-strummed violões and 10 string Brazilian viola double-stop soloing, it ranges from doleful songs and valses to happy danceable grooves. The regional star Renato Teixeira appears here.
