AllMusic Review by

Drawn from Israel Vibration's 1995 album for Doctor Dread's RAS label, On the Rock, "Rudeboy Shufflin'" was Al "Apple" Craig's gentle shot at slackness in the music industry, and while rumor has it that the song is directed at producer Tommy Cowan, it also takes aim at MTV for promoting all things gangsta. This extended-single release includes the original mix, a jungle version, several dubs, and a version of the Roots Radics' backing track. It doesn't sound particularly militant in any guise, but "Rudeboy Shufflin'" may well drive home its point that much harder for being just on the edge of sweetness in sound.
