Here's a really rare gem: this is the only genuine recording available of this Martiniquean version of roots Afro-Caribbean percussion (its cousins are found in several small islands under versions of the same name). This recording from the early '60s is the real rural thing, played by the kind of village-musician field-hands who were and are the real backbone of Afro-Antillean tradition. It's really important music beautifully played, with brief and not very informative notes in French.
