This DVD went out of print so fast that it caught a lot of people by surprise that it was gone, after being offered over PBS as a fundraising premium pretty widely. Jerry Butler opens the proceedings in a spirited fashion, and everyone involved mostly succeeds in matching the energy of the best of the acts, which include Little Richard, Lou Christie, Little Anthony & the Imperials, et al. Some of the performers, such as the Reflections and the Duprees, don't really fit in all that well, being a little too pop-oriented, but the whole event holds together well and the sound is good and loud and close, while the full-screen image is crisp and vivid.
