Green Zone [Original Motion Picture Soundtrack]

Composer John Powell has collaborated with Paul Greengrass before (United 93, The Bourne Identity), and his familiarity with the British director’s kinetic, hand-held visual style is used to great effect on 2010’s Green Zone, an adaptation of journalist Rajiv Chandrasekaran's 2006 Iraq War book, Imperial Life in the Emerald City: Inside Iraq's Green Zone. Powell may not establish much of a melodic presence this time around, but the tense, tribal rhythm loop that weaves itself throughout the soundtrack’s entirety will stay in your bones for days.
