Amidst the Delerium debacle, Rhys Fulber went off in a more solitary direction under the guise of Conjure One. While it's true that "Redemption" retains the Casio Arabian Knights sound well known by Fulber's followers, a project like this has a measured, methodic strip of big beats that are certainly -- and surprisingly -- more at home with the alpha-male thunder of East Coast hip-hop than anything else. Max Graham's remix (see Nettwerk's Plastic Compilation, Vol. 5 and Graham's own Tranceport 4) throws down some 303 action on the Third World airs that, even at its tranc-y worst, shines like the brightest star here.
