It's widely agreed among longtime Michael Schenker fanatics that his work with UFO circa the mid- to late '70s was his high point from a creative/playing standpoint. But there are also those who feel that his 1980 self-titled solo debut is certainly not far behind. Both camps are sure to enjoy the 2002 archival live release Reactivate Live, as it was recorded at two different shows on Schenker's first-ever U.S. solo tour, and includes standouts from both UFO and his early solo days. Considered by many as one of hard rock's most underrated guitarists, Schenker showcases his six-string skills throughout, especially on such highlights as "Lights Out," "Rock Bottom," and the instrumental "Into the Arena." While Reactivate Live won't get the nod as the best live album Schenker has ever appeared on (UFO's Strangers in the Night is a mighty hard set to top), most fans will enjoy the chance to hear the Flying V-wielding guitarist at the top of his game.
