AllMusic Review by

A three-disc box from the dance subsidiary of Cleopatra known as Hypnotic, Ravers Ecstasy is yet another confusing, misleading trip through what an American industrial-dance label's thoughts are on the state of European dance. The set includes three compilations -- Digital Extacy, Afterburner and The Door of Perception -- which are also available separately. The first is allegedly a trance album, though the likes of Aerial Servant, LV-426 and Pissle-Whistle Party cast much doubt on Hypnotic's ability to chart the trance scene. The second, Afterburner, fares a little better. Subtitled "Musik from the European Gabber-Trance-Clubs, " it includes tracks from Chaos Control ("Amokk"), Hemming Van ("Snotty") and Forza ("Viva Brondby") that are accurately rendered productions, if not the most famous of the gabber scene. The final disc in the box, The Door of Perception, is a collection of tracks from five psychedelic trance producers (including R-Escape-R, Out o Phase, Liquid'z), barely negligible as dancefloor filler to say nothing of headphone listening.
