Like many rockers during the '60s, it appears as though Jimi Hendrix signed quite a few faulty contracts along the way, since there's been an absolute blitzkrieg of unauthorized recordings that have flooded the marketplace since his 1970 passing. Case in point, 1996's Rare Hendrix. It's a safe bet to say that if Hendrix was to have lived, the material included here would never have seen the light of day. And to add insult to injury, these tracks have been issued numerous times over the years, under a variety of different titles. Granted, there is some great guitar playing included here, such as on the track "Blues Blues," but these live recordings don't hold up to any of the better live recordings that have been issued over the years, nor the 2000 four-disc box set, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, which is comprised solely of outtakes -- both live and studio.
