AllMusic Review by

There is no way of denying that the music of Bebeto owes much to that of Jorge Ben. But despite the obvious similarities, Bebeto is far from being a pale copy of Ben, and his music definitely posses a charm and personality of its own. The songs on this collection are drawn mainly from the '70s and early '80s and comprise great, funky Afro-Brazilian tracks such as "Princesa Negra de Angola" and catchy sambalanço songs such as "Segura Nega," "A Beleza é Você Menina," "Apareça," and "Como?" by Luiz Wagner. The charming "Objeto de Adorno," with its lyrics about an old couple still in love, sums up the general mood of the record. The selection of songs is good and representative for Bebeto's work, and, as a result, it adds up to a very fine collection.
