AllMusic Review by

The 20 selections included on this CD were all originally on one of three Stomp Off albums: Waldo's Ragtime Orchestra, Spectacular Ragtime and The Wizard of the Keyboard. Pianist Terry Waldo performs with a couple of ragtime groups (which utilize both strings and horns in music that is mostly written down) plus four numbers with a trio also including banjo and tuba. The emphasis is on obscurities (with a few exceptions) from the ragtime era including "Knock Out Drops," "Eli Green's Cakewalk," "Slip Horn Stuff," "Yankee Bird March" and "Alkali Ike - A North Dakota Misunderstanding." Delightful music, easily recommended to early American music collectors who do not already have the Stomp Off LPs.
