The Garden Of Delights reissue label specializes in lost or forgotten German psych/prog bands from the 1960s and 1970s, and the label sampler series, of which this is the third installment, is probably the best way to sample most of these bands, since they can be a bit of an acquired taste. There's a lot of heavy-handed jamming and wanking going on here (think Iron Butterfly), with "Loneliness" by Arktis stretching on for 20 minutes, while "Abflug" by Morpheus clocks in at just over 15 minutes. Somehow, Tyburn Tall snuck in the lead track here, "America," which manages to bubble along jauntily at well under three minutes in length. If you're into Teutonic progressive folk-metal, then Psychedelic Underground 3 is the Holy Grail, or at least Volume Three of the Grail. If you're hoping to never hear "In a Gadda Da Vida" again in your life, then by all means avoid this compilation.
