The third in the series (and once again released on the same September 2005 date as its predecessors), Pop & Kidz, Vol. 3 presents more kid-and-adult-sung covers of pop songs. Surprisingly, everything works a lot better on this one, maybe because the track selection is much more current (don't get fooled by "Papa Don't Preach," it's based on the Kelly Osborne rock cover of Madonna's original, the oldest song by far is "Don't Speak") or maybe because the singing seems to be much more adult-oriented, with the kids taking secondary parts. The mix of their voices sounds best on "Where Is the Love" and "Hey Ya," but it also works pretty well on "Crazy in Love" and even "Sk8ter Boi." By far the best of the three, Pop & Kidz, Vol. 3 might even be acceptable for listeners not buying gifts for children, who are looking for something a little kitschy for themselves. Maybe.
