Proving that music really can take any shape or size, Los Acosta released one of the most entertaining albums of 2001. Poemas Para Lu Corazon is a collection of romantic Latin pop ballads, accompanied with hilarious sensual poetry. The singers croon these love songs with the upmost sincerity and passion, but the hammy keyboards and tinny drum machine beats make for a few wince-inducing moments. But the whole affair is very fun to take in, especially the Latin poetry, which is on par with Meatloaf in terms of dramatic readings. Overall, this is a very fun album to hear once, but it does not hold up to repeat listens quite as well (not to mention that the intent of the album was not humorous to begin with).
