From Chile, Viviana Guzman's musical influences are worldwide in scope. Having studied with James Galway, Jean-Pierre Rampal, and others, classical music comprises but a small fraction of Guzman's artistic makeup. Planet Flute begins with "Seventh Veil," a song with Moroccan roots, and is followed by "Brittany," a tune with Celtic origins performed with didgeridoo and dumbek in tandem with Guzman's gold flute. Additional songs from Cuba, Hungary, the Andes, Australia, and other far reaching locales complete this recording, with Aboriginal and Eastern motifs and rhythms being introduced most frequently within the various pieces.
