Although it may not be anything out of the ordinary, Piano Moods, Vol. 2 is a solid collection of piano tracks. The hollow beats and cheesy keyboards that accompany several of the tracks brings this much closer to elevator music than expected. But the piano playing is top-notch, performing very recognizable hits from Charles Trenet's jazzy "La Mer" to Abba's unforgettable "Dancing Queen." To be warned, there really is nothing too exceptional about this album. With that in mind, there is nothing really bad here either, making this a perfectly acceptable recording that works as excellent background music. Anyone interested in a piano instrumental album could do far worst than starting here, just understand how average the whole thing is.
