AllMusic Review by

This Cleveland-based band followed up their entertaining but amateurish Shake Your Buddah with a finely-crafted record of superb songwriting. Every song is a hit. Songwriting is divided between guitarists Linda and Kevin Roy and bassist Alan Grandy. High energy, smart pop hooks, bright melodies, intelligent lyrics. And strong instrumentation too backed by an impressive background vocal arsenal. Violinist Janice Fields adds a nice element here as well. Lots of clever wordplay in the lyrics though not overbearingly so; the lyrics rely less on repetition than most of what is out there and this is a big perk of this disc. The problem with this recording is the recording quality. The violin sounds like it was recorded on different planet than the rest of the instruments, and vocals are often loud and imbalanced. Barring these acoustic issues, this is a very enjoyable recording.
