Three albums into their career New York-based Psychotica are still playing the part of Goth heavies and, unfortunately, coming up short. If Marilyn Manson hadn't exploded into the mainstream, working the religious right into a frenzy, this stuff might have been thought of as new or even mildly dangerous. But, in the wake of industrial shock rock's previous mainstream successes the over the top nihilism of songs such as Pandemic and Harlow sound limp and postured.
