The soundtrack to the Walter Matthau/Jack Lemmon romantic grumpy-old-man comedy Out to Sea is a hodge-podge of pleasant incidental music, oldies (Pérez Prado's "Mambo No. 5," Frankie Ford's "Sea Cruise," Kool & the Gang's "Celebration," Bobby Darin's "More") and no less than five songs sung by Brent Spiner, better known as Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Perhaps hardcore Trekkies will find that to be sufficient reason to purchase the album, or perhaps fans of the film will find that this evokes fond memories of geriatric bumbling, but most listeners will find Out to Sea too scattershot to be very listenable.
